The Reasons Behind The Racism
The main cause of the increase in racism against Asian Americans is the stigma created by the Coronavirus pandemic which originated in Wuhan, China. Much of this racism is created by the generalization of people due to their ethnicity. Although Asian Americans did not start COVID-19, the people who commit hate crimes against them generalize Asians as a group that started the disease. Racism is discrimination against a person or people of an ethnic group. In this situation, we see that racists discriminate against Asian Americans because of this generalization. Another cause of this increased racism is the increase of racial violence caused by authority figure such as the police. There has been an increase in acts of racism from the police and law enforcing figures. This increase in racial bias with police interactions has made an example to the public and lessened the population's fear of the law when dealing with minority peoples.
